Retreats
Twice a year, Fourth Presbyterian Church offers opportunity to participate in a contemplative retreat, joining fellow members and friends of Fourth as we engage in a variety of spiritual practices that open our hearts and minds to God's love.
For more information on retreat opportunities, contact Victy Curtiss, Associate Pastor for Mission (312.981.3598).
A Lenten Contemplative Retreat
“Deep Calls to Deep”
at The Well (1515 W. Ogden Ave., La Grange Park, Illinois)
Experience a sacred time . . .
Refresh and renew your spiritual connection with God using spiritual practices of the church. Join in worship, guided meditation, journaling, praying with images and psalms, or simply enjoy nature and solitude.
Embark on a sacred journey . . .
Join members and friends of Fourth Presbyterian Church as we journey into silence, reflecting on Christ’s death and the hope of resurrection. We will begin with a shared meal and time of preparation. Following our evening worship service, we will enter into the stillness and profound mystery that is the steadfast love of God. The evening and following day will provide opportunity to explore different spiritual practices while enjoying the beauty and hospitality of The Well. We will close the retreat breaking our silence and reflecting together on our shared experience.
An Advent Contemplative Retreat
“Watch and Wait”
at The Well (1515 W. Ogden Ave., La Grange Park, Illinois)
Each Advent season, there is opportunity to take time to be apart from day-to-day life and to prepare your heart to receive the birth of the Christ child. All are invited to join members and friends of Fourth Church for “Watch and Wait,” an Advent Contemplative Retreat taking place each December.
For more information about the Holy Week Retreat or the Advent Retreat, contact Vicky Curtiss, Associate Pastor for Mission (312.981.3598).
