The Chicago Avenue Community Garden celebrates God's gifts of nature as volunteers and local children and families nurture plants and friendship in the midst of this emerging neighborhood.

For more than 40-years Fourth Church has reached out to its Cabrini neighbors with programs like Partners in Education Tutoring. While the neighborhood is changing with the Chicago Housing Authority’s Plan for Transformation, we continue to hear a call and see opportunities to be involved in important ministry.

With a growing presence in the community we hope to help bridge the gap between people of diverse backgrounds and needs. We are committed to being a positive presence and resource for this developing neighborhood, offering fellowship opportunities and social service programming.

We now host the Chicago Avenue Community Garden drawing children and adults from the neighborhood to garden side by side with Fourth Church members. As we bring the full Project Light vision to life, we will build a community center on our Chicago Avenue property, providing space for comprehensive programming as well as community group gatherings and worship. The Chicago Avenue center will be designed to serve as a community anchor and beacon of hope and understanding.
