Fourth Church Rising is the confirmation program at Fourth Church, an opportunity for eighth graders to explore their faith in preparation for church membership through confirmation. Any and all eighth graders are always welcome to attend, regardless of their relationship with Fourth Church.
Fourth Church Rising seeks to lay a foundation of faith and trust in God that will help eighth graders throughout the challenging and exciting years of high school and beyond. The bonds of fellowship and fun provide each young person with values, goals, and friendships that will last a lifetime. Over the course of the year, the basics of Christian faith are discussed and applied to real life. Upon completing the program, we hope that youth will have a deeper sense of how faith and life intersect in meaningful ways.
This is accomplished through a combination of pastoral guidance and small group interaction led by adult volunteers. Through weekly meetings (Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon), participation in worship, visits to other churches and religious communities, retreats, and fellowship, we hope to raise up our church’s next generation in the faith of generations past, present, and future.

2013 Summer Work Camp in New Orleans
Saturday, July 6–Sunday, July 14, 2013
Mark your calendars for the 2013 Senior High Work Camp to New Orleans, Saturday, July 6–Sunday, July 14. We are working with Project Homecoming, which is supported by Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
Youth who will have completed Fourth Church Rising are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend with the rest of the Senior Highs.
Fourth Church has a strong history of mission in New Orleans after the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina, having sent many groups in the past seven years. We are excited to continue this tradition during our Senior High Work Camp this summer. Our work with Project Homecoming will focus on home repairs and new home construction. Even seven years after Hurricane Katrina, there is still plenty of recovery work to be done. We will learn about the city of New Orleans and meet lots of people affected both by Hurricane Katrina and the work of Project Homecoming.
