History of Western Music is an exploration of musical traditions from ancient civilizations to the innovations of the 21st century. Through listening, discussion, and creative projects, students will trace how classical music has evolved across cultural, political, and spiritual contexts evolving from Western European traditions. We’ll dive into key composers and movements while also inviting students to engage with music personally—through analysis, performance, or original research. No prior musical training is required, but curiosity and open ears are essential!
