Deep Listening Dinners

Deep Listening Dinners

Deep Listening Dinners offer an opportunity to meet new people and deepen connections through meaningful conversation and curiosity. Participants gather around tables of six to share a meal and reflect together on a guided theme for the evening.

Each table is supported by a conversational host and includes open-ended questions that encourage thoughtful sharing and attentive listening. While enjoying a meal and conversation, these evenings foster community, belonging, and spiritual nourishment.

Deep Listening Dinners will be held in Anderson Hall on the following dates:
May 8, 6-8 pm
July 10, 6-8 pm

Hobbies and Hidden Talents
May 8, 6-8 pm

Our topic this month is Hobbies and Hidden Talents. Deep Listening Dinners are a place to meet new people and deepen connections with those we know. We come together with courage and curiosity -- courage to share about the experiences of our lives, and sincere curiosity to hear the stories of others. Over a meal and conversation, we build community, experience belonging, and are nourished physically and spiritually.

Our menu this month features Chinese and Thai food from Big Bowl: Vegetable potstickers, Sesame Peanut Noodles, Beef and Broccoli, Orange Chicken, Vegetable Pad Thai, green salad and Flourless Chocolate Cake!

Deep Listening Dinner Participants' Feedback

"Very much enjoyed the in-depth conversations. I liked the mix of generations so I could meet church members I wouldn’t otherwise encounter, and the length of time was perfect."

"I enjoyed the evening and plan to attend again. The discussion topics were thoughtful and encouraged honest replies."

"Being able to share a little about ourselves and touch hearts with others has been an inspiring experience and opportunity for growth. "

"In our busy lives, it's so difficult to get to know each other on a more personal level.  These dinners provide that space for everyone to be authentic and personal. The dinners provide opportunities for all of us to form new bonds, connections, and friendships."
